Software engineers typically participate as a team member on a project development effort.  They can contribute with their implementation skills, design activities, and product development analysis, among other things.  You have the option to stay technically oriented or choose project leadership activities.  How much time and the way you contribute is pretty much up to you - as long as you are making a difference for our clients and growing your capabilities as an engineer.
