You
are absolutely sure that you want to work for SEP,
but you still aren't quite convinced that you want to live in or around Indianapolis. Granted, Indianapolis doesn't have some of the charm,
excitement, activities, crime, pollution, gridlock, etc. of big cities
like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Seattle, but there are still quite
a few interesting things to do here if you just look around. As the
ancient proverb says, "A foolish man searches for happiness in
far-off lands, a wise man finds happiness in Indianapolis, Indiana."
Hopefully, this information will give you some idea of what's doin' in
Indy.
Certainly you'll need a place to live, hopefully not very far from work. We suggest
that you obtain a copy of the Greater Indianapolis Apartment Guide,
a free directory of apartments that is published monthly. It is
distributed at area supermarkets and drug stores, or check it out online.
On those occasions when you need to take a rest from playing Counter-Strike, you
might be interested in some of the other leisure activities the city and
state have to offer. If you enjoy watching spectator sports, Indianapolis
has many offerings on the professional, college, and amateur levels. And,
if you feel like you can do it as well as the pros, you'll probably be
interested in the outdoor sports that are going on in Indy. Or perhaps you
enjoy being outside but aren't quite as competitively minded, in which case
the Indianapolis outdoors may be for you. Finally, for those of you with
an artistic side, we've included some information about the arts and music
scene in central Indiana. But, if you've searched high and low and still
can't find anything exciting in our fair city, just gas up the car and
head for Chicago or Cincinnati, and see if you can find it there. If you
can't find it in either of those places, you should probably consider
lowering your expectations.
