We have to answer, "It depends."

It depends on what the client needs...

SEP is more an engineering firm than a software development firm. Software/system development
is a core competency and our main source of business, but we also provide many engineering support services.

Our services support the entire lifecycle: 
 
	- upfront problem definition
			- prototyping to test our ideas
					- stakeholder management to promote buy in
							- development/deployment services
									- program and technical management
											- validation, verification, testing
													- hosting, maintenance, support

We engage with our clients in many different modes. Sometimes the scope is very well defined and we are handed a specification.
On the other end of the spectrum we are also hired to "help get this product to market" and in this case we roll up our sleeves with the client
and do what needs to be done!
