The Center for the Performing Arts

Chief Operating Officer Traci Dossett found the reasons to support Carmel's Center for the Performing Arts plentiful. "In choosing SEP's new offices, we wanted to find a place of vibrancy and culture that was also a gathering place for the community. This led us to the City Center complex. At the heart of this campus is The Center for the Performing Arts."

Comprised of the Palladium, The Studio Theater and the Tarkington Theatre, The Center for the Performing Arts (The Center) promotes music and theater projects from all genres. Marquee touring acts share time and space with local children's theater and community projects designed to inspire as well as entertain.

"I truly believe the arts play an important role in the community. Whether it's music, dance, comedy, magic–they all inspire creativity, bring the community together, impact economic development and improve the quality of life of those in the community," explains Dossett. "The Center provides opportunities for schools to share world class venues with their students, including many from low-income areas who would never have the opportunity to visit a concert hall and see a renowned artist perform."

The Center benefits not only from the aid of SEP and like-minded businesses eager to enrich the arts, but also from the input of legendary performers and writers such as Michael Feinstein. Feinstein, who lends curatorial expertise and is the Center's Artistic Director, is helping guide how the three venues work to engage the community and best represent the arts.

The partnership between The Center and SEP bridges the offices and performance spaces of Carmel's Center Green in an effort to grow the community. "We hope to bring attention and focus to the Center to help ensure the viability and success of the City Center complex. We've also tailored our sponsorship towards educational or family activities. We are excited to have been involved from the beginning in this great community attraction."
