Internship Program

When you intern with SEP, don’t expect to be going on coffee runs or making copies. An internship with us means a summer of working on real projects alongside professional engineers -- not to mention professional development opportunities, community service days, and plenty of fun social activities throughout the summer. While you will have the opportunity to dive right in, you’ll also be supported by your own mentor and plenty of group activities to ensure a smooth transition into the internship program.

Process Tips Microphone

Application Process Tips

  • Get a good feel for who we are and what we do (read SEP blogs, be familiar with SEP culture, etc.)
  • Good grades are great, but show us what you've done outside of school work (passion projects, hackathons you've participated in, community involvement, etc.) -- What sets you apart from your peers and classmates?
  • 90 minutes is not a lot of time to determine if SEP is a place you want to spend your summer -- consider finding ways to connect with SEP employees and interns to help determine if SEP is right for you.

“From the research I did on SEP before I interviewed, everyone at SEP seemed to really like the variety of the projects they worked on. Some said it was almost like having a different job every 5 years. This freshness was definitely appealing to me.”

    Elliot Yesmunt, IUPUI
  • Katrina Testimony

“I knew that I wanted to work for SEP when I went to one of their info sessions at Rose-Hulman. I liked everything I saw during their presentation, and I visited them at the career fair and liked what I saw even more. I’m so glad I attended their session, because I ended up working at this awesome company!”

  • Joe Testimony

“I chose to return to SEP for my 5th internship with the company because they have a great atmosphere where people are open to helping others, questions are encouraged, and learning is a priority. I find that every year I’m at SEP, they offer new experiences and learning opportunities due to the variety of projects and team members.”
